Bridgefy and Atlas Associates Partner to Deliver Disaster Communication Solutions for Japanese Municipalities

Mexico City / Tokyo – October 1, 2025 – Bridgefy, the global leader in mesh networking technology, today announced a strategic partnership with Atlas Associates, a Tokyo-based startup behind the next-generation messaging app Arc (formerly Nocturne). Together, the companies will provide advanced disaster communication solutions for Japanese municipalities, designed to keep communities connected when conventional networks fail during large-scale emergencies such as the anticipated Nankai Trough earthquake.
At the core of this initiative is a nine-member joint development team formed by Bridgefy and Atlas Associates in 2023. This team has been building a proprietary mesh networking technology that powers Arc, enabling smartphones to create direct peer-to-peer connections over Bluetooth. The result is resilient offline communication across several kilometers, even when Internet and cellular infrastructure are disrupted.
“We are honored to partner with Bridgefy to address one of Japan’s most serious disaster risks,” said Takayuki Miyano, CEO of Atlas Associates. “With Arc, our mission has always been to go beyond basic messaging and deliver a platform that serves as vital social infrastructure. By combining our expertise with Bridgefy’s mesh networking technology and the dedication of our joint nine-member team, we are confident this solution will help municipalities protect communities and strengthen resilience in times of crisis.”
The solution already deployed within Arc incorporates strong encryption to protect privacy and security. Looking ahead, new municipality-focused features are planned for Q2 2026, including verified administrator tools that will allow local governments to broadcast official updates with digital verification badges. This will help ensure citizens receive trusted information and reduce the risks posed by misinformation or impersonation during crises.
Atlas Associates and Bridgefy are actively inviting Japanese municipalities and government agencies to participate in pilot programs. The companies also plan to expand beyond emergency communications to deliver broader disaster-prevention and mitigation solutions nationwide.
